I ran across this guy a couple of days ago and he sat still long enough to let me take a couple of snaps of him.

Cool shot. I love toads, wonderful mosquito eaters.

My wife doesn't share my opinion.

.
What a gorgeously colored toad! . I love those rich rusty tones. . Stunning!

I wish we had anything like that here in my part of the country. . You are very fortunate to have such stunning herps where you live.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

That may be a Houston Toad which is an endangered species.

I'm pretty sure (not enough to actually label it) that it is a Gulf Coast Toad. I don't believe that Houston Toads actually live in Houston.

Ah ha, Sorry to mislead. Thanks for the correction. I'm not down in that area, but vaguely remembered that species from one of the books I studied.

No problem. Part of me wishes that it was a Houston Toad because, well, how cool would that be! The other part of me is extremely glad that it isn't a Houston Toad because, well, how bad would that be to have an extremely endangered toad living in my backyard?
