Is it just me or do others hate the in-video commercials on youtube? I can deal with the ads at the beginning but I often put on a 15 minute video to watch while I ride my exercise bike and then have to get off it to skip the ad. I tried watching one on this video to see if it would go back to the video but it just went to another ad...

If it weren't for the vids I wanted to watch I would stop watching youtube

Google wants you to pay for the Youtube Music Premium package. I do have it but have wanted to switch to Spotify for a while for a better UI and customer experience. The Youtube ads-skip-monopoly-synergy-value-add pretty much strong-arms me into staying. I can't imagine going through informational tutorials with ads playing every few seconds.

A good detailed look at the battery door hack and ML's new involvement.

And here's another...this time Matt Granger.

You can’t ad block YouTube ads. Do you have Google Play music or YouTube Music? Those come with YouTube premium.

That’s probably it. Either that or there’s a bug in your favor / you made someone at Google very happy somehow.

We'll see what Canon does. Remember months ago people were asking how Canon was going to deal with the heating issues with that size of a body. There must be a reason cinema cameras are larger and have fans. He boasted about getting another 15 minutes but you did not see him be brave enough to try it. Who's going to try it? ;-)a

Perhaps the thermal solution was unreliable and would damage the body. A few weeks ago Canon Rumours said there would be a FW update but don't expect much. I agree with ML and the Fro that pre release they should have advertised it as an outstanding stills camera with some new cool video features. As Matt stated they did release the specs on July 9th so they weren't hiding anything. Then again what do I know about marketing. I do know people are climbing over each other to get one. It also seems people want a pro cinema camera for the price of an MLIC.

Once the Canon C70 or R300 or whatever comes out, it’s not going to make sense to try to work around your camera’s self preservation functions to half-heartedly replicate the A7SIII or C300 Mark III.

It took Sony years to release that camera. People should take a chill pill and just wait for the imminent dedicated releases from Canon in September and November.

That’s because YouTube would prefer people do the Premium subscription. Annoy people enough to make them pay for ad free subscription!

If you are referring to watching it on a computer, then yes Adblock works. However no such functionality on mobile devices so far.

Really? Sheesh, didn’t realize it was that easy! All the newspaper websites stare at you with leery eyes (plz disable your adblock, peasant!), I would have figured YouTube would have done the same by now!

Kind of confirms what everyone is saying

They crippled video functions to protect higher end video cameras

Cats out of the bag

Firmware

Why, how will they fix ??

My guess is stills will have zero issues
