Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM

I wonder why it took 2 years before anyone got this 2018 lens.

It looks like some were waiting for the RF series to arrive and others are switching from EF L lenses to RF...In any case both series are outstanding lenses!

I am LOOKING for a 'PRE-LOVED' EF 400MM f/2.8 iii or EF 600MM f/4 iii to pair with my Leica SL2 via a Sigma MC-21 adapter, I would rather buy an RF series (since EF are being discontinued) but there are zero adapters in existence or on a roadmap that I know of. While I love the native Leica SL lenses, they do not offer any super telephotos yet...

2018 EF lenses are expected to have an after sales service support of up to 7 years. So by 2025 whatever parts that were made for that year is all it will ever have. Alternatively cannibalizing parts from donor EF products are an option.

Odds are though that using the EF L lenses in non-work environments like those of a hobbyist on the weekends would extend its useful life by as much as a quarter of a century.

Are you looking for an RF lens to SL body adapter?

Ideally I would prefer an adapter to use RF super tele lenses on the Leica SL, however I do not know of any that are yet on roadmaps...The advantage of buying an RF lens would not only be service but better resale down the road if / when Leica offers native super tele lenses.
