John, using it on a 80D. Will check your link. If the same, I don't mind saving a few $$. Thanks.

Thanks for the input greenjeans, another tally for the 1.8

On an 80D, any 50mm lens will give you a field of view equivalent to 80mm (50 x 1.6 = 80mm). You’re aware of that I hope?

I would buy the 50 1.8 STM over the 1.4. The 1.8 STM is a really good lens and the 1.4 has known focus ribbon problems.

Another vote for the Ef 50mm 1.8 STM. It is a great little lens. I've owned or used the 1.8 version 1, the STM, the 1.4 and of the three, I found the STM is my favorite.

Received the 1.8 Stm today. Excited. I got some other items (lens hood, softwares (downlaodable), cleaning kit and lens filters) as a package with the purchase.

Package: https://www.adorama.com …ma.html?CategoryID=246488 (external link)

Comes with Pro Optic: Ultra Violet, Circular Polarizer and Neutral Desity 2 filters. Being low end, will these be useful at all? I am do not use filters to begin with and don't have experience/knowledge on filters.

This is the lens hood: https://www.adorama.com/prolhes68.html (external link) it came free with the purchase also.

Won't say no to free.

That is one of those Adorama “bundles” that costs the same, with or without the “accessories.” IMO, even if you don’t need the stuff, or it be of low quality, take it and decide later if it has any use. I bought a Sigma 17-70 Art from Adorama that came with a polarizer. On a recent over water excursion, it was perfect and worked well. I felt a bit gun shy about taking a $125 polarizer into a salt spray environment.
