"it simply isn't there, and doesn't come up when I click on a page number"

Only works if you click on the green number, not on a page number.

(just found out, didn't know it was possible)

It needs to be a thread with more than one page to get more than a simple reload.

True, but this limitation wouldn't apply in ordinary use. In a one-page thread no one would need to go to another page.

In an earlier post, Tom did say nothing happens when he clicks on the green one. It's a mystery. Pekka has been careful about designing the software to fit all browsers.

Thank you - that worked!

Of course I never saw it before ..... the green number is the page that one is currently on. . If I am already on a page, then why would I ever click that same page, to go to the page I'm already on? . I would never click on the page I'm already on, because I am already there! . LOL

So of course I never saw it before. . It seems a bit unusual that you would only be given the "jump to" option after clicking on something that you would never think of clicking on. . That seems counter-intuitive . But thank you for pointing it out ..... now that I know about it, I will use it.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

The thread needs a minimum of SIX pages for the little box to appear. Think about it.

Thanks for making that observation, John.

It makes sense, because with less than 6 pages, the number for every page in the thread will be right there on the screen, hence no need for a "jump to" box.

That also explains why I didn't get the box to pop up when I clicked on the green box earlier ..... I must have done so in a thread with less than 6 pages.

I was going to reply(no time earlier): Should have read the earlier posts more carefully, sorry. But I don't think it's necessary now.

Thanks to you both. I didn't know that either Charles. Saves a lot of clicking! The brilliance of this software and its features never cease to amaze me.

Pekka did do an amazing job with this software! I sometimes wonder what other hidden gems are in this software we do not know is there.

Well, how about we start a thread that lists these "easter eggs"?

Well another one I didn't know about till someone pointed it out was clicking in the margin to get back to the top of a page. Saves so much scrolling!

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Go ahead, but stop listing them at some point before you break the server.

I think that that feature is so useful and so intuitive that I find myself doing it on all the other websites I use, too. . Of course it doesn't work there, which kinda sucks.

If there were 10,000 or 20,000 more Pekkas out there, the internet would be a better place to live.
