Am I the only photographer who is becoming increasingly annoyed with Adobe? They send several messages every day on my phone, iPad and Mac about things in which I have little or no interest. They frequently initiate long, irritating and, to my mind, unnecessary updates which tie up my Mac for ages, and now they have doctored things so that I have to go through an absurd signing in process virtually every time I open Lightroom, even though I've subscribed to it for years and use it virtually every day. It is all becoming so infuriating that I am seriously thinking of giving up on Adobe, even though I believe theirs is the best PP software. And where would I go? Affinity? Is it just me or are Adobe becoming a real pain in the lens?

I too would be annoyed if all that was happening to me.

I have the photography subscription and have had is for many years. I use LR Classic and Photoshop. I don't have any of the issues you mentioned. Perhaps there are preferences you could adjust to get rid of them.

I'm not sure what you mean by "messages". . Do you mean text messages, or messages via Messenger?

The only communications I receive from Adobe are emails. . I have never gotten any sort of messages or browser notifications from them.

I suspect that you have some sort of setting in your account preferences that is causing you to receive 'messages'. . I think this is the case because no one else that I know seems to be receiving these messages from Adobe. . The folks I know only get emails, and if one wants to avoid the emails, it is easy enough to have them automatically directed to one's spam folder.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I too am a CC subscriber but not on my phone. I get the occasional email but maybe 2~3 a week at most. Updates seem pretty seamless and really haven't been impacting. Might be worth looking through your preferences as mentioned above.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

If you log into Adobe website with your Account, you should be able to not only change personal information (phone and email address), but there ought to also be a section for Opting Out from Adobe communications about various product families, and about Adobe's magazine.

You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! Keep POTN alive and well with member support https://photography-on-the.net/forum/donate.php

I’m about the same.

Me too / neither. I have had the photo plan for years and I get absolutely nothing from them. I don't think I ever have. Obviously some notification preferences you need to change.

I've not had anything like that at all... you must have made it to a "special" list somehow. Of course I have mine set to autoupdate, and only occasionally do I get a message on launch "here are the changes"... but that is it, and very infrequently.

I guess you need to find out why you are so special?

I am a subscriber and the updates have been rather painless. I'm looking forward to the day when Capture One may be a suitable replacement to Photoshop. When or if it happens I will drop Adobe like third period French.

While LightRoom by itself might not be worth the cost of subscription over ownership, the addition of PhotoShop to the subscription makes it worthwhile for me. I would never have bought PS as the price was more than I would pay, given that I use it much less frequently that LR. But with the subscription, on those occasions when PS is extremely helpful, I now have access to it. That makes me very happy with the price of the subscription (especially when I can pick it up on sale).
