Funny how things thrive when we don't interfere? Red fox are one of my favorite animals to photograph, the population here in PA isn't what it used to be. They are slowly making a comeback as less & less people trap. I've seen a couple of gray fox over the last couple of years, they are more rare here than the red. Hell, up until just about 10 years ago the rich folk here still went out on horseback hunting with their hounds. They still go out to play but they don't hunt wild fox, they have their own game preserve that they stock animals with. The Ring neck pheasant hunt is a joke, the birds are practically pets. I could pull my car over & catch one with my hands I'd bet. It's still a great site, "hunters" on horseback & a pack of about 50 hounds. I have a friend who is a photographer & they used to hire him to cover the event.

A well-chosen moment to capture. Is this animal filling the pantry for winter?

Thank you
Yes, they are pretty busy until snow flies, making hay piles. I was very surprised to see how much they can carry. I saw another far up the hill that looked like it had a small bush in tow.

That is a cute critter. Not a big fan of rabbits but this little things so cuddly. It will probably destroy a garden or yard like others though.

Not unless your garden is at an elevation of over 7000 feet and includes lots of rocks.

That is good news. Obviuously not taken in Florida since the max elevation is only 345 feet or 100 meters. :-D

I have hiked about 75 miles and 18000 vertical ft in two weeks looking for these guys and any other opportunities that present themselves. I haven't got the shot I have been seeking, but any opportunity to watch these fascinating little critters is worth the hike.
