Yeah, one problem though. They are very skittish. They don’t like humans. I will have to come up with a strategy to approach them without them fleeing into the cluttered mess from the photo.

.
A strategy I have used is to spend so much time there with them that the eventually get used to me. . It can take a few days, or a few weeks, but over time they do tend to become more tolerant and allow one to get closer, and to come out into the open more. .

Another plan is to get there before they are out. . Sit down on the ground with your tripod already set up in a low position, and just wait. . Instead of approaching them, get there first and allow them to approach you. . Of course this does mean a few hours of just sitting there waiting, but that is pretty normal for wildlife photography. . In fact, it's pretty normal for bird photography, too.

It really depends on how badly you want to become a rabbit whisperer.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Yes, that’s basically what you do with birds too. And I have the patience to wait. Problem here is that a broad path runs through this, what shall I call it?, park. No motorised vehicles allowed but still always busy with pedestrians and cyclists so even if I were to remain still and wait, others will ruin it for me. It’s a problem.

I don’t know the area very well. It used to be a bit of genuinely wild nature but in a tiny country with expanding cities, nature gets cultivated so this is now a park. A park with a somewhat unique quality and it’s outside the city but still a park with paths and people. I will have to explore the place, find quieter spots where there aren’t any paths and people.

Thanks to this thread I suddenly have a new subject to photograph. Pretty cool.

OK, I'm pretty sure it's lagomorph, not -morth. Lagos is Greek for hare, and morph means form. So lagomorph = hare-shaped. I haven't read the whole thread, so maybe this has already been pointed out.

Here is my lagomorph found on a friend's lawn. I'm a bit ashamed to say that I don't know for sure if it is a rabbit or a hare.

It is "lagomorph." Your compact creature looks to me like a rabbit. Hares have a more gracile build and longer ears in proportion to head size.

Perhaps we could say "lagonorth" if the critter lives in the north, as did the bunny I posted above. Here is a lagosouth, an Ecuadorian rabbit.

I would agree on those points

"Lagomorph" was misspelled. That was the context for Archibald's comments in post #93 above.

Yes, I know ... but I would like to know how it was misspelled.. . As odd as it may be, misspellings are actually interesting to me.

Thanks so much for that. . I can't believe this thread made it to 93 posts before the misspelling was mentioned!
