Yeah, one problem though. They are very skittish. They don’t like humans. I will have to come up with a strategy to approach them without them fleeing into the cluttered mess from the photo.

A strategy I have used is to spend so much time there with them that the eventually get used to me. . It can take a few days, or a few weeks, but over time they do tend to become more tolerant and allow one to get closer, and to come out into the open more. .
Another plan is to get there before they are out. . Sit down on the ground with your tripod already set up in a low position, and just wait. . Instead of approaching them, get there first and allow them to approach you. . Of course this does mean a few hours of just sitting there waiting, but that is pretty normal for wildlife photography. . In fact, it's pretty normal for bird photography, too.
It really depends on how badly you want to become a rabbit whisperer.
