Absolutely one of the most spectacular images I've ever seen on this forum.

This was a quick muck around to test the R5's ability to pull detail from a couple of not so ideal situations.
The first was of a dark juvenile magpie against a lighter background and the second was a sulphur crested cockatoo against the overcast sky.
So far I'm really impressed.

I've come from a 5D3 and haven't been doing much photography, so looking forward to getting back into it in the new year.

OK, so I have not done ANY experimenting or set up for Video as of yet. That said, last night I could not help but shoot a video of how fast the moon moves when you are watching @ 3200mm locked down on a tripod. Video quality and all settings were whatever Canon sets them to by default.
I apologize for the camera shake at the beginning, but this shows how much everything moves when you press the red button!

3200mm full frame;

I suppose, if one were to measure down to small fractions of a second, it would in fact be true based on how far the observer is from the equator? Just hypothesizing...

Ok so this one definitely falls into the snapshot category.

However it does give an indication of the capabilities of this camera.

It was set to animal eye, I was holding the camera close to ground level with the screen out and tilted.
The light was falling on the screen and I could not see if the eye detect had in fact pulled focus.
Out of a 5 shot sequence 2 were out of focus but this was due to the bird walking within the MFD of the lens.

This is a long billed corella

I have such a hard time with birds in flight. These small ones are particularly hard to catch.
