Jan 08, 2021 17:31 | #2186 F35 coming in for landing at Luke AFB. I was about to toss this whole string as the exposure just looked to be a mess but decided to mess a bit with everything and I was surprised at how much range was left. I'll attach the original as well for fun. This was taken at 2PM on a very sunny day here in Phoenix, but it's hard to tell from the end result! Jan 08, 2021 22:29 | #2190 A few shots from Luke Air Force base with the 100-500 and RF 2x converter attached. The 2x converter is a bit much here, and I think the 1.4x converter is better suited instead, with the rare exception of a shot of a jet taxiing. At 1000mm the lens is at f/14, and even in the bright AZ sun I was still usually pushing ISO 1600-2500, add to that any atmospheric haze or heat and it does make it hard to get a sharp shot with good detail. Now, not impossible, just hard. Add to that, where I usually am the 600-1000mm range is too much so that made tracking pretty difficult as well. 600mm f/11 ISO 1000IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/2kqntru 1000mm f/14 ISO 1600IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/2kqntiD This is 1000mm uncropped on an F35 coming in for landing. Needless to say it's a bit much and pretty hard to keep properly framed! When the subjects are close the detail is really good thoughIMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/2kqnqqz Flickr stream: https://flic.kr/ps/se6hB
