Last night while shooting bluebirds I had a few high up barn swallows so I tried the crop mode with the small fliers. It did really well. I will say this has been the best camera for locking onto swallows. I have not had good opps yet, they have all been fairly high but if I can do my job tracking them, then the camera does it's job well.

Nice, I guess if you're struggling to track them in crop mode you could always switch to full frame...

Great, always wondered how good the extenders are and this really shows that.

It also shows how good the R5 is .... :)

And let's not forget the photographer - who is AWESOME!

Kind regards, Wim

No, you are not the only person. I shoot 90% stills and maybe 10% video. The things I want the R5 for is the auto focus, the 45MP, and the auto focus stacking feature for macro. I doubt that I would ever use the 8K, and the 4K120 only rarely.

My first real camera was a Canon F1. That was a long time ago.

It finally happened.. i'm now with a R5. Now i have barely touched it so keep that in my while you look at my first two sample shots of my neighbours cat. :)

First impressions are simply ..WOW! what a camera, that magic AF system which does all the hard work for you, these wonderful RAW files with no noise in them and lots of dynamic range to play with. After only about an hour shooting this and that i have to say i like it a lot already. :)

Btw, RAW files processed in Canon's DPP.
