Can you give a ballpark general estimate of how many images you are capturing during an outing? Are you finding the eye AF has any trouble when there is lack of contrast between the eye and face? I have a friend with an R5 that indicated the AF was reluctant to find the eye on a moose, and defaulted to head. Fantastic images BTW. Appreciate the sharing and context of crop vs non-crop modes. The most I took on an outing was about 2000 shots. The eye focus does miss here and there but it is amazing. This morning there was a turkey in the yard and the eye focus followed him as he was running, awesome stuff. flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/robamyphotos/

I shot a few seconds of video as the guy went up and turned. It was enough to capture the moment, then i pulled the file i wanted to keep and dumped the video. This feels like cheating photography. ![]() Hosted photo: posted by Magnus3D in ./showthread.php?p=19108982&i=i105407317 forum: Canon Digital Cameras A 100% crop from the same file. Can you imagine Canon getting any of these cameras back from users? A greater likelihood is that Canon, seeing the crazy demand, will boost the price by $1000 before I get my copy. "All-I" treats every frame as a still, as far as compression is concerned. It is only compressed internally within itself, spatially, like a JPEG, with no lossy compression over time between frames, which would leave individual frames very detail-less or distorted, or with things in the wrong places in certain parts of the frame, especially if they have low contrast. Some of the worst examples are pans where high-contrast bold items advance every frame, but low-contrast items stutter or just completely disappear. Of course, you still need to use stills-worthy shutter speeds to be able to pull any arbitrary "all-I" frame out and have a sharp result.
