Agreed Ed. Very helpful Rob, helping me make decisions here too!! I am a former EOS R owner who was disappointed in many things about the camera but the files and IQ- when it functioned as I neede it to they were beautiful. Canon seems to have gotten it right this time so I am willing to try again. Wish I hadn't sold that 24-105L the R came with though! Ed

What Robamy does is more to what I do for Hobby and relaxation. I love to get out and shoot wildlife and just have fun with then camera. But for $$ and business purposes, I shoot portraits and weddings and, really, Im in the in-between place right now. Medical issues have forced me to cut back so now i have more time to go out and play and do what other wildlife photographers do. This next month its a week in Glacier, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons shooting wildlife. I know when to go for bears at the Tetons and at Yellowstone so very excited for next month. My 1Dx2 and 5D4 are such versatile pieces of equipment. Best I have ever used. But The R5 or R6 really has my interest with animal focus and for regular people portraits, the eye focus features will work well for those things. Not sure I want to mess with 45MP files. But when I hear a guy like Robamy tell be he crops heavy for wildlife needs......My ears perk up....he's using high quality reach (400 F/2.8 and TC's ) and he still wants a 45mp file for cropping needs.....has me a little concerned about the R6 sensor.....dam I wish it was 30Mp like the 5D4...cant have eveything............LOTS TO THINK ABOUT To be very honest, if you do have the funds, I think it is a no-brainer to get the R5 over the R6 considering all the extras it brings. EOS R & EOS 5 (analog) with a gaggle of primes & 3 zooms, OM-D E-M1 Mk II & Pen-F with 10 primes, 6 zooms, 3 Metabones adapters/speedboosters, and an accessory plague

However, if you intend to venture more into wildlife and particularly birding the way Robamy (and I) does, then you do need that 45MP. A few years ago, I upgraded my 5DIII to 5D IV primarily for more room to crop, and it has made a big difference in my bird photography. Now, upgrading (soon) from 5D IV to R5 is going to make a whole lot bigger impact given the R5's AF system along with even more cropability. For wildlife and bird photographers, this is a huge significance.
