Rob, have you tried your 100-400ii with the 2x? If so, how does it compare to the R?

I took a couple after work today for you. I was very impressed with the 2x on it. AF was very snappy. I think you will be pleased with the combo.

That's fantastic news, thanks Rob, they look great. As I said, I was pretty happy with their performance on the R so had high hopes the R5 would better that.

Yeah that is great news. But a little confused 'cause I've been reading (here actually) that after a certain length IBIS does not engage. Or is that longer than 400mm (800mm w/2x)?

I still had the IS symbol showing so the Lens IS was still working anyway. My 600mm + 2x also worked. Not sure what combo it does not work.

There’s a world left to shoot street photography in? :-D

Upside is that we don’t need to worry about obtaining model releases / privacy. Downside is we can die taking those pics.

And of course all the great street shot opportunnities carona is presenting :)

It will also be interesting to see how it performs with 400 f/5.6 prime + 2x combo.
TCs with that lens does not go well with certain bodies as I understand.

A colleague at work brought his dog with him today, luckily i had my R5 in my backpack with a 50mm lens on it. Grabbed a couple of quick shots with animlal eye focus which worked great! :)

The sandisk that came with my 1DXIII seems fine. I've only used it a handful of times thus far, but so far no issues.
