Another great shot Tom, I love the variety of all the natural perches in your photos.
Hi Wayne...
Thanks very much. Plants and trees struggling to live (and many not surviving) in the Sonoran Desert produce some unique perch opportunities.

Jul 24, 2021 21:20 | #4579 We had a lot of clouds this morning, which is great for taking shots of butterflies and insects, but the shutter-speed really needed to be kept on the low side. Thankfully the IS in the R5 and RF 100-500 works so well. I never thought hand-holding @~600mm and 1/125th would ever be an actual option without a hope and a prayer of getting a decent result. Jul 24, 2021 22:50 | #4580 I remember Canon at some point in the past discussing how stills will be "dead" Maybe more hyperbole/shock value/humor type of statement. Nice work!! Magnus3D wrote in post #19263306 Today's experiment was performed by shooting 8K RAW and also 8K C-Log3 video, then pulling still frames from both videos and edit these in post. I wanted to see if the workflow would be usable and relatively fast to use during sports and other fast events. It is not quite as fast as having pure RAW files to work with, but when you do need 30fps then it is absolutely useable. Extracting the frames was quite easy, just export from Final Cut Pro as 16-bit TIFF files in this case, editing was done in Capture One Pro. But i guess it would be even faster just to keep it even simpler by shooting 8K ALL-I with a Canon picture profile already applied in camera, then simply extract the frames i want to keep and ditch the videoclips afterwards. I'll be testing that tomorrow. Still frame extracted from 8K RAW video, then processed.
