Red squirrel in Ottawa. No problem at ISO 12800.

Hi, Archibald. Here's a couple of similar ones that I took today under the trees today. Like you, I was quite close to the subject, especially with the first one. We only have greys where I live, BTW, but they still pose nicely.

Discovered a Wood Duck today in eclipse plumage. Quite a rare sight in this area but he allowed me to take a series of shots. Here is one of them.

Jay these are truly impressive photos.
So rich in detail.
They are beautiful in every dimension.

Thank you very much! I get pretty lucky with the random things that I find outside this time of year, but the weather will be changing soon and the "macro season" will be over for another few months. I don't mind too much as it gives me a bit of a break and some time to think about what I could do differently next season. :-)

This nesting Australasian Grebe was some 23-25 yards (20-22 metres) away from the side of the lake at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardesn in Brisbane. I fitted the RF x2.0 Extender to give me 1,000mm.

Cheers

Dennis
