Re the R5 Eye Detection AF, I was just reading "It will not function with Servo AF, so it’s unable to work with moving subjects (therefore, Eye Detection AF is not possible in Sports Mode or Panning Mode)." Is this true? Doesn't seem right...

That really is beautiful! The size is terrific is that a liner and if so what type of liner? Is everything run on a pump? What do you do in the winter to maintain this?

I am not sure if that is correct, there is no sport or panning modes that you select on this camera (SCN mode). I never shut Servo off, eye detection seems to work every time except when the eye can't be seen. Not sure if that is in the R6 or not. I think Cameras like a 6d have a sport mode. Maybe that's why it is not possible because it does not exist :-D

I can't see a scene mode (on the mode dial) on R6 and I definately saw eye focus work with af in servo.

Same here Rob. I am always in servo and it definitely grabs and locks on to eyes. It gets people really well. Animals it depends how well you can see the eye. My puppies have a bit of fur in front of the eyes and it's enough that the camera rarely detects an eye. I can't fault it there.

This one is with shadows +100.

That looks like a cobbled together mish mash with references to Canon R, R5 and R6 throughout.
And that statement above in full refers to the EOS R, and that issue was resolved in firmware V1.2.0 which bought servo AF eye detect to the EOS R.

"It’s disabled if you’re using the Miniature effect or Fish-eye effect settings, within the Creative Filters modes.

Eye Detection AF cannot be used when recording video (overall Face Detection is possible during video recording, including when continuous Movie Servo AF is active)"

^quoted from the linked "manual" - bolded sections are inaccuracies - just in the 30 seconds I looked over what you linked.

Either they made some egregious copy/paste errors or they are just making things up. I wouldn't use that site at all.

Try the official one:
https://cam.start.canon …03/manual/html/index.html (external link)

...you actually want to use servo AF mode when face/eye tracking.

I got the Delkin CFexpress reader. Hooked right up to my MacBook and I would say it was noticeably faster than SD or transfer via the camera. Happy I got it. And it was only $55.

Adorama shipped my Lexar 128GB CFexpress card and reader yesterday. I have a fast SD as well. My R will become my walk around so I'll get a cheap SD for that.
