After much debate (with myself) if i should buy the RF 16mm 2.8 or not, i went to pick it up today. I wanted the other ultrawideangle zooms but they cost too much. This one will have to do..

I went out downtown to test it on a few ultrawide locations, it's pretty sharp on the most important part of the frame. Edges are soft as expected but that's fine, i can live with that. AF speed was surprisingly fast and snappy, not what i expected since it's using a STM motor. It should be a fun lens to shoot with in the coming weeks and months. :)

RAW files edited and corrected in DxO PhotoLab.

GBH in flight. I like the original framing... but can't resist a close-up crop. The R5 has gotten me addicted to cropping...

Hi Chris...

It kind of depends on where you're going to be and the type of cactus. This photograph was taken in my front yard in far North Scottsdale. About a week ago we had a lot of Argentine Cactus blossoms blooming, but they've since stopped. I'm sure you'll find some cactus blossoms such as the Cholla which are just now forming buds.

Tom

Dave that really is a beautiful photo of a handsome young raptor.
Really comes to life on the screen.

Desert Blossoms...

Tom I've been admiring your cactus flowers. I saw your other comment above but curious if those cactus growing in the wilds come alive with flowers that can be seen from afar (100 plus yards away), or they're just a few flowers here and there?
Do cactus "put on a show" when it's flowering season?
