Did you use electronic or electronic first curtain?
Any distortion with BIF? Any slow down with mechanical shutter with the 600 + TC as that is not on the official list for 12fps.

There is no slow down but I do have the ver III so not sure if that matters with ver II. H+ is available in all combos I used so far. As far as distortion it did show up in some hummingbirds but with seagulls and terns today they had no distortion. Most things will be fine, depending on speed, wing placement etc. I took some dragonflies and they had a little but they looked really good.

First of all, I love Riley! Question -- when you shoot in "crop" mode, does the crop fill the EVF?

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Riley is a good one for sure. When in crop mode the image fills the EVF but you have a reduced AF area vs the full frame AF area with AEF. The look of the screen does not change, the subject is just closer. Works really well.

The MFD of this lens with the crop mode makes for a nice close up lens. This is full frame.

Looks great. Is this one of spray and pray, or single shot?

robamy,
Thanks for posting your great images. How is the crop mode activated? I assume that the EVF displays it cropped. I would be nice if it could be activated by one of the custom button settings.

I had it in silent shutter and it took 4 shots. 3 were good.

You're welcome. You can select it with the Q button and where is says full on the right side near the bottom click on it and you will see the 1.6x crop mode option. I put mine onto the C1 function so I only need to hit one button. I am not sure if you can assign it only to a button for just crop mode.
