The Eye of the Tiger:

We have two extremely rare Sumatran Tigers at the Auckland Zoo. Given there are barely 400 such animals left and they are subject to poaching for their skins, body parts for remedies and for private collectors, and they are losing habitat, they are in significant danger. The few reserves they should be safe in are porous and are subject to locals encroaching in them for wood, food and to graze their animals. This results in conflict where tigers attack humans, where a single attack may result in several tigers being hunted and killed.

The male and female are from different zoos and the hope is that they will mate, which is being attempted on-going.

The male:

Sure did.
4 days worth.
I try to make every year,

I miss it, some. I had 7 seats in row 1 on the pit side at the starting line. We went for about 15 years. Then everyone started to get tired of it so we.stoppped going and I stopped renewing my seats in 2019. We would go only on Saturday.

Some of the more interesting insects are coming out here in Phoenix AZ, so I got to break out the macro lens again. These are two small mantises that were in my back garden area. Lots of green ones, but these were the only ones I saw that were something other than green

Thanks!

For these it's a pretty simple setup. I was using the Godox MF-12 flashes, two of them mounted on the lens with an X2t wireless controller. I also used the diffusers that came with the MF-12 flashes. I do have some add-on diffuser options I'll use on occasion, but I don't use them too often
