I was in crop mode and Amy was full frame with the 1dx Mark III. I cropped her's to a similar size and processed both. Her image held up very well. Her's is almost cropped 50%. We had different settings because we did not do this as a test but interesting none the less. In PS full size 24x16 we both agree mine looks a little better. Hers looks a little over sharpened in full size. Both look excellent to me!

Oct 12, 2020 00:49 | #964 We've had a few wayward rosette spoonbills show up here around Phoenix AZ. I was able to get a few shots of one of them today as I was testing out the RF 100-500. Overall I am really liking this lens. Is is a huge leap over the 100-400L MKII? No, but the fast AF and extra 100mm reach are both really nice to have! I have a 1.4x but always steered clear of the 2x. Seeing this shot makes me think I better go get one and give it a try on my 400mm f2.8. Id certainly be happy if I got your sharpness with it A question Ed....was it a 2x II or III that you used ? 2x iii. My guide uses it on his 400 2.8 and it's great. The 2x was designed, I understand, to work with the big white primes...IT does. My other guide used to use the 2x with his 600 and his images were great too. Ed
