He was pretty close. We were just off the road in a row of trees and he was about 40 feet away, munching on willows with one eye on us. There were about 15 people strung out along the road there, all being good and keeping their distance. If he had moved toward us, we'd have backed off, but he seemed unconcerned - not as grumpy as some moose can be. Rick
