Several weeks ago, my wife was moving my beloved 1D from one spot to another. It slipped and dropped on a concrete floor. Now it will not turn on. I haven't looked into what it would cost to repair it, yet. Assuming it would even be worth doing, as opposed to trading it in, along with a Canon SX20 IS and a 20D towards a lens. However, she felt so bad about it, she went online to Adorama, and ordered me an 80D in E+ condition. That is due to be delivered this afternoon.

That was very thoughtful of her to do. Does she know cameras or did she know you wanted an 80D?

She does know some about cameras, through her association with mine. She owns a Rebel T5. She looked up what was available used and in her price range at Adorama, then compared features of the available cameras vs my old 1d before settling on the 80D.

The camera body is here. I am experimenting with it using her Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens. My old Tamron 70-300mm is having issues, so I need a new telephoto lens to go with this camera.

My wife used the 55-250 for a while but now uses the EF 70-300 II USM. She loves it on her 80D.

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

I don't think you will get very much for a 19 year old camera that won't turn on. Not even for parts. I really doubt Canon would look at it. Glad you are getting a new one. Sometimes you just need to move on. Make a glass case for it and keep it for memories you had. :-)
