I finally got away from the office and the dreary Northern California weather. It felt good to get out and shoot. Anyhow, even though the trip was for our annual baseball ritual for Spring Training, I did manage to get out into the desert outside of Tucson near the Saguaro National Preserve - or whatever it's called. Thse are all from one morning's shoot. I really only had the one morning
I hope you enjoy them, and as always, comments, critiques, slams, disses, or any other in-your-face stuff is always welcome!

So, in no particular order...
A Curve-billed Thrasher in the early morning light. At least I think it's a Curve-billed. It might be a Bendire's Thrasher but I can't really tell the difference. Since the Curve-billed is more common, I went with that. I'd appreciate confirmation...
The ever popular Finch Fight!!
A Northern Mockingbird
A couple of photos of a male Gambel's Quail. I can't believe he just posed for me. These guys, like the California Quail, are soooo skittish. They hang in the underbrush and are very hard to get in good light. He just posed for me in the morning light for about 5 minutes!!
A couple of images of a male Gilded Flicker.
I call this "You say Good-bye and I say Hello" A Catus Wren displaces a House Finch from the Saguaro.
And a couple of Cactus photos since I was there. I like the clouds in the first one...
