Hello photographers :)
I am in a stage where I already set up my new desktop which will be both Hackintosh and Windows-based pc. I get paid for photography and I have a second job as well - means I am not an uber professional but from time to time I have clients. I do mostly events for companies and weddings. I am slowly getting into video making as well. I love b-rolls, I want to make videos from my travels into nature. I do not create content to be printed with 100% color accuracy. So for future plans - I stick with photography(not printing) and video.

I am a huge fan of qHD resolution. To my eyes, it is the best resolution and compromise between hardware load while still maintaining a nice detail(close to retina displays).
And I am struggling in choosing the right monitor for me. Let's say I have a 550 USD budget for a monitor itself. I read a lot of articles, watch a lot of youtube videos but still, I can't decide! :( I found out that I might need sRGB accuracy only?

When I had MBP 2015(with dGPU) 2 years back, it was super slow for Adobe apps. Heavier work in PS was just pain in the axx :D However, I did love the glossy retina display it had. I really did. I am trying to figure out how close can I get in choosing my desktop monitor?
So my first thought is - IS THE ACD 27 STILL WORTH IN 2020? I come from Czechia and the prices here are a bit higher for a used ACD 27. I might be able to get it right for 550 USD here.

My second struggle is - I am now used to my laptop which has 144Hz screen and I'll be switching back to 60Hz one and I am afraid it will be a big pain to get used to. It is very hard to get higher Hz monitor for this price while being a color-accurate one.

Any opinions on my journey in being incapable and sad which one to choose?

Apple Cinema Display 27"
I would like to justify it is still worth it ;-)a And I have a flat with nicely dimmed lights so a glossy screen is not a problem.

BenQ PD2700Q 27 inch QHD 1440p IPS
I like this one, nice curvy bezels.

ASUS ProArt PA278QV
This one is 75 Hz.

I would love to read your criticism and please bear in mind - amazon prices 300-350-400 USD-ish will make it 500-550-ish in Czechia. Thank you!

The Apple Cinema Display is only any use when connected to a Mac, it has some very limited functionality when connected to a PC.

Of the others, the BenQ would give the best image quality for price, once calibrated it's an excellent monitor, only an NEC or Eizo is better, and then barely.

The BenQ and Asus are probably both a good pick and should calibrate well. Not sure if either will be significantly better from what I've read, but I'd definitely suggest getting a display calibrator eventually either way.

144Hz won't really matter for the work you're doing, although for what it's worth the Asus is 75Hz.

If you stick with sRGB there are options out there for higher frequency support like the LG 27GL83A-B (up to 144Hz with variable refresh rate) but unless you're also gaming I wouldn't consider it worth it.

I have the BenQ SW2700, a little more $ than your range listed, but not a lot, sitting next to a NEC PA272, which is a lot more. They both calibrate very well. In fact, mine match each other exactly. Love them both, maybe the BenQ a touch more because it was easier on the wallet. Both hooked up to my Mac.

I think I might go with a newer screen and later maybe if I manage to borrow ACD 27 for a day or two I might go with that for additional testing.

I know for that kind of work u dont need a higher refresh rate but have u ever tried to observe the mouse in Chrome how it gently and fluently moves across the screen? Or maybe scrolling pages? It is so satisfying to experience such smoothness in 144Hz screen.
60Hz screens are maybe nice if they are small - like 15" the bigger they get the higher is the chance and the greater is the effect that the particular 60Hz screen in a size of 27" will be glitchy and not smooth. And that is what I am worried about because I am kinda spoiled with 144Hz now :D My opinion.

I think I've found my champ. It has got DCI-P3 9x% which is really cool. 144Hz, FreeSync(amd cards hackintosh only)..
It is 8bit plus FRC, so close to the TrueTone.
And I can stick with inbuilt speakers which are praised kinda. So I can save on external speakers for a while.
