That was a nice thing to say about that pic, Charles. Even though I am also a bit embarrassed, seeing as your images are National Geographic level and mine are pretty much mediocre at best. So thank you.

I went from a 1DX2 and 5D4 to the R5 and R6. The 1DX2 had my favorite sensor ever, and the R6 has a slightly improved version of the 1DX2's sensor. I preferred the images from the 1DX2 over the 5D4. Now I still prefer the R6 images to the R5 ones. Yes, the R5 and 5D4 are more crop-able. But when I fill the frame, I prefer the R6.

This is similar to my opinion on the files for the 2. I just sold my R5 and picked up another R6. For what I shoot, I do give up some cropability, but I can still print what I need for my clients.

It's okay, Charles. I know I have a number of nice images. You're just in another league is all. And that is totally fine. I enjoy your work very very much.
As to my gulls, they kind of saved me during the whole lockdown period as I can always count on them to be present where I live so I can shoot them from home, in flight or just sitting on the ridge (the gulls, not me ) that runs around my building. I quite like gulls and they're quite photogenic. Still, I wouldn't mind if they were Osprey or Hawks or some such bird...

Beautiful! Those little birds fly so fast, and it seems that they don't rest very much when nesting (always moving)

Tokina 16-28mm at 16mm, ad f/2.8
ISO 1250 (nowhere there)
4-second exposures

No in-camera noise reduction. Used NIK Dfine2 (automatic noise reduction applied)

Beautiful birds. They're fascinating in every way.
The sheen on their coats is so nice and you've captured that beautifully.

Beautiful bird and great shots, Don.

"Nesting" cheetah. I came across a young cheetah on the grasslands shortly before sunrise and when my guide and I approached we saw movement in the grass nearby. Looking closer we found the cheetah mom curled up in a ball in the spot she'd chosen as her bed for the night. It was still quite cold so i think she was just trying to keep warm. We spent some time around these cats the day before and they do not see us as a threat to them so moving around slowly, I was able to get some really unusual angles of a cheetah. This was an amazing experience.
