Gannet Flyby I was pleased with how the EF 70-300 MK II handled the task.

Nice shot. That is a lens that is capable of some good photos. I have not tried mine yet with the R6

Having a silent shutter makes such a difference. No more scaring off the wildlife with a single click and it also allows for more natural poses, though even the normal mechanical shutter is much quieter than my DSLR. Do wish I the option to change to a lower frame rate though.

Stumbled upon a baby Baltimore Oriole waiting patiently in the bushes for the next meal.

Thank you for your comment! I have used quite a few legacy EF lenses with the R6: 70-200 (f/2.8II IS and f/4II IS, all 70-300 units, 100-400 MkII, and the Sigma 150-600C and 60-600S units) and without exception they have all rendered good results. It appears Canon have done a great job with their adaptor!

When travel restrictions ease (I am just about to get my vaccine shots), I hope to go to Africa, the Galapagos and Antarctica and I would likely bring the 60-600 along with an R7 (if that comes out) plus the Rf24-105 or 24-240 on a FF R body. That should cover pretty much everything I want to shoot.

Since we are enjoying early sunsets, it was arranged for a bunch of us to photograph the Auckland waterfront from across the harbour at an overbridge crossing the main highway north of the harbour.

Later, we repaired to a spot just to one side of the harbour bridge, which was lit up to celebrate the Matariki (traditional Maori New Year).

Barred Owl with mole.

Fabulous capture, Steve. What time of night do the barred owls hunt?

Sorry for the delay, Finsnapper, but I somehow missed your comment. First, thank you! This picture was taken ~10 am. There are two fledglings so the adults will hunt in daylight to feed them....the juvies make a begging call that's hard to miss. In the fall, Barreds get active around dusk, though they can be seen during the day mostly resting.

Nice shots. I saw that aircraft up close and personal, some years back in Victoria BC, Canada when it made a visit. I would hate to be the tail gunner...

Thanks for that info, Steve. I didn’t realise that they hunted by day.

"Mom, I want my Maypo!" This fledgling owl alternated between between begging calls and scanning the trees above it for an adult with some grub.

Enjoying this camera way too much, the fact it managed to grab focus with all the dust flying around still is something I am amazed by. Low light AF performance to is just crazy good.
