Why not try it with more than one item? Like a row of objects front to back?

Mainly because it was for use in a for sale ad for my 5d3 ;-)a

Here you go, with lens EF85mm f1.2L II at aperture 1.2, second image is the first one in the stack.

Very nice
Is focus stacking a build in feature of the R6?

Yes; I don't think that small web images of relatively shallow fields of subject matter really show off the capabilities.

A ruler laying on the table and running front to back would show off the ability better in a small image, and you could even show how it is "focused" over a long range, and then just drops quickly OOF fore and aft.

Peteg or any R6 owners...need your help

The 100% cropped image. Can you export that image at 278PPI and tell me how big the picture is. Example 3MB file....Small R settings is about 8mb's from what I am reading.....really curious how big that file would be if you wanted to print it....I think this would be very helpful for people who are on the fence with the R6....I am leaning R5 because of this very issue....I think for wildlife needs, the bigger file will probably be way more beneficial when you crop in 100%

Thanks in advance

curious what is the biggest file would be at that 100% crop

I stopped by a local park to test the R6 with my EF 300/2.8 IS USM II

Took out the R6 w/RF-800mm f/11 to see how it does, very happy for what it is. 20 megapixels and f/11 doesn't seem to go together but it works. Canon has been using 20mp in high end cameras for awhile so they know what they're doing.

One thing that is immediately obvious with the R6 over the DSLRs of the past like the 5D4, the chroma noise is almost gone, no blotchy colors or anything. They are there in the raw file, because DPP, if you catch it just right, shows it, but then it disappears, almost like there is a 2nd noise reduction raw frame that gets applied. I even put the sliders way down in DPP for both types of noise. I am not complaining, these are very easy to clean up, easier than the 5D4.

Here is ISO 25600 while I was setting up animal eye AF, after I post processed the raw through DPP then Photoshop, with minimal work using Noiseware.

I had one on order, but decided to save some money. I was having a hard time rationalizing the extra $1600-1700 for the following items:
- better EVF and rear LCD
- more resolution
- better wifi/bluetooth
- top display

I went through these items and the only one that would be most useful is resolution, however I have been happy with the 5D4 and I will just keep shooting with it. I want good eye AF and the R didn't have it, but this does, and works well. So this will be my portrait camera (senior portraits, holiday shots, etc) because it will be so much nicer not having to focus and recompose.

The eye af is like what everyone says, it's so simple it's like cheating. Just let the camera focus on the eyes, and all you have to do is worry about a) framing and b) timing.

The R6 does feel a bit cheap-ish, lots of plastic and some rubber, like the 77D, but fits the hand well and is solid. It doesn't AF very well in low light with the 24-105 kit lens though, it struggles. Can't use my EF glass until my adapter comes in.
