Great shot! Love the eyes!

Such a great shot - did have to look twice as the first time I thought a 6th owl had gone head first into the dirt with just a leg sticking up (left hand side) then laughed out loud when I realised it was a twig. . . .

Debated whether to take my 500 f4 prime or continue with the 100-500 f7 for an early shoot with Owls. Guess I'm just getting lazy and just didn't want to carry the prime. Besides, it's so much easier to react with the zoom.

Hi John...

Thanks for the comment. Yes, it was a big crop, but the R5's 45MP sensor gave me acceptable quality (at least for web presentation). Here's a screen grab showing the crop.

It turned out great and yes I do love the ability to do drastic crops with this unit. Keep em coming, I always look forward to your captures.

Just returned from Alaska. Highlight was a pelagic trip out of Dutch Harbor in the Aleutians. Primary target was the Whiskered Auklet which is found in a narrow range around the far northern Pacific Ocean. This is a heavy crop, shot from a moving boat.
