Morning all,

I have an issue with my Canon 100mm f/2.8l lens. I must state here, that it's still under warranty and will be returned, but in the mean time, I was wondering if others had suffered the same.

Recently, when trying to focus with it on auto focus, when I depress the shutter release to focus, the camera/lens just makes to quick clicking noises and i'm unable to focus or use the lens at all.

Anyone else had this and how was it resolved?

Thanks all

Was the focus limiter on the lens barrel set to limit focus range?

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Now there's something I don't know. I don't think so but i'll check. It's been used plenty before this happening but maybe i've knocked the button

Like a million people I also have that lens. At first glance it sounds like the Autofocus or IS mechs are bad. That lens also has full time manual focus. Try switching off the AF button and give it a spin. Can you turn the focus ring by hand?

Well, every day is indeed a school day......

@Pippan..... you were right, it was the limiter switch. I didn't know much about it anyway so have googled to educate myself, but I reckon I must have moved the wrong switch recently when either switching to manual focus or turning off IS

Thanks very much

Very glad to hear it was so easily fixed. Happy shooting!
