Thanks for providing the link; it makes for some interesting reading.
Myself, and the times I enter, are actually in the American Central time zone, UTC -06:00, S, according to the chart.
And, I am assuming what I always called Greenwich Mean Time, UTC, remains constant and is not plagued by the silly concept of Daylight Savings Time -- or is it ?
So, in summer DST (which the powers that be have extended from February to November), I am actually UTC -05:00 (I think).
That being said, am I right in thinking that the +0000 is incorrect for my US Central timestamps and should read -0600 winter and -0500 summer?
I don't know how to correct this; the cameras are set for the correct time in my zone and I have the IPTC template set to enter EXIF Date/Time Taken; I am not seeing any option to enter my offset, nor an option to not include the +0000.
I am using the IPTC Editor in XnView MP
