I picked up the Meike adapter from Amazon, after reading through reviews of other 3rd party ones like Viltrox, etc.

This came today, was very inexpensive, is weather sealed, and attaches tightly to the body. There is zero wiggle. I have tried my EFS lenses, a couple L lenses, and also lenses with the 2XIII, no issues so far.

I have Meike grips for my cameras, and still have mine for the 5D4, it has lasted for a few years with no issues, so I thought due to the impossibility of getting the Canon R adapter, I would try this one. So far so good!

This is why these sellers need to pay a reviewer to read through their listings before they post, lol.

My one grief with the adapter so far is that the lens release tab/button is very small. I feel it should be a bit wider than it is. I also hope that with no black flocking material inside, there won't be any undue glare created in my images. Time will tell on that as well. However the fit and finish is very good.

Best of luck.
It just my opinion and nothing more. A lot of generic or third party products are great.
I simply paid a lot of money for several new L lenses over the last few years.
I wouldn't want to void any Canon camera or lens warranty if something went bad wrong.
I read about a really old non auto focus adapter becoming stuck on a film camera body.
I would look and keep an eye out for mild or deep scratch marks on mounting rings and such resulting from a tight fit.

It's a tight fit due to the rubber seal. I have purchased countless Canon and third party items, NEVER an issue and certainly not a warranty concern at all.

I tried the sigma MC11 adapter on the Sony A7iii that EVERYONE SAID WAS THE BEST ADAPTER for L lens to a sony. It was that combo that I tested side by side against my 5D4 and 1Dx2 and how I determined that the L lens focus much slower on adapted glass on the A7iii....others also came to same conclusion. Was even worse in the dark

Now they (Sony Owners ) are saying there is another adapter that does not impede. This is a year later

Im going to wait until Canon had their adapter available

My opinion....most 3rd part stuff will work but not at peak optimum performance in difficult situations

FWIW, I ordered a standard Canon adapter from Bedford Camera online about 3 weeks ago. They had them in stock with free shipping while people and used dealers were leveraging the low supply selling them at a large premium. I had even called them before ordering and they were great to deal with. Got it in 3 days. They don’t have the standard adapter now, but do have the control ring.

But that adapter has electronics, you have to convert Canon to Sony speak.

For these adapters, they are simply pass through. I have had the Canon and the Meike adapters, zero difference in performance. Just like extension tubes, etc.
