It would be nice to see these images alongside the corresponding wide-field images.

Not downplaying what's presented here, but
I could probably take any number of celestial images with similar features.

They look a bit fuzzy, too.
Understand this much: I've never attempted such imaging,
so I'm a poor judgement of the result.

Very well done IMO

Off the beaten track :-P

A 2x barlow lens and exposing for the planet alone will give you even better results, but you'll most likely lose the moons ... but worth it IMO. Also, look into AutoStakkert and Registax using video frames ... it'll give you the best results. A bit of trial and error but easy enough.

That wasn't the purpose of this adventure. I've imaged both planets on many occasions but this time I wanted to see if I could pull out the moons. The only way to bring out the faint moons is to over-expose the planets. Besides, at this focal length, 670mm, and with a monochrome camera, they would have just looked like tiny dots anyway. Thanks for looking though.

Jason, I have no complaints about it. I know it's not a Tak. but it suits me just fine. It's my first APO and I bought it second-hand from a buddy. It's the same model that Chuck, AKA Chucks Astrophotography, used to use before E.S. upgraded him to the carbon-fiber model. He's captured a couple APOD's with it. With the .7x field flattener/reducer it's great.
I will say this, after using reflectors all my life up until I bought this scope, I will never go back. E.S. is a great company with decent support too.
