 yeah, that should do the trick

Setting aside the fact that I'd have made some different choices, the only thing that really stands out to me is the power supply.

I'd have put more power supply in it since that CPU is known to be quite hungry. Not much headroom there, but you don't have a particularly demanding GPU so it should be OK.

Should be a nice machine. I do see that “Colorblinded” mentioned the power supply. Looking up the specs I don’t see that as a big issue. You can review th finding at https://www.guru3d.com …k-processor-review,5.html (external link) where they found 295 watts for a multithreaded load. Keep in mind that is for the entire “representative” machine so it might be slightly different than yours but is offered up as a guideline.

I also note that the 550w rating on the Corsair PDU is the “continuous” rating.

If it weren't such a good power supply I'd be more concerned but those Corsair supplies are solid.

Still if you load enough drives in to that system and hook up enough USB devices and have the CPU and GPU running full out with the rest of the system being reasonably taxed you're coming closer to the PSUs rating than I'd typically choose to.

Did you look at a Ryzen 3900X or 3800X?

They seem to be offering easily the best performance per dollar at the moment.

Otherwise it looks like a really sound system. We have a Fractal Design R5 and R6, both with the solid side panel. It's a nice case, has great filters and with solid side panel is very quite.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Hi Guys /Galls

Well it came today and up and running I loaded Photoshop and Affinity and both open in 2 seconds when i drop a file onto the short cut ,topaz denoise is 1 second to open and on standard setting takes 15 seconds to process a 14mb file .

Videos looks great and so is the sound with music files

The computer is absolutely silent all in all as good as i could wish for :) it takes 12 seconds to show the screen when i switch it on so not too bad.

Rob.
