Nothing real outstanding about this shot, but I went for one last boat ride of the year down my river yesterday, and this gal was perched in her favourite tree right across from my dock. She's the grand dame of the Wallace River. Handheld @ 1000 mm, f/8 ISO 1000, from a boat.

You did really well from your boat with that much reach! You are so lucky Ian to get to see such beauty all around.

Hi Sandy thanks much. I agree, I'm fortunate to be surrounded by nature's beauty.

"Just an eagle"?

Really, Ian? "Just"??!

You say "just" about a gull. Or a pigeon. All right?

Pfff, all I see are gulls at the moment. I'm so jealous of your eagle. You are indeed a lucky man to live where you do, my friend.

Haha hello Levina, many thanks for your contribution! Nice to hear from you as always. I go through dry spells too when the gulls try to take over, but this time of year is active for wildlife and I’m looking forward to seeing new and interesting things.

I agree, and lucky to have them around in good numbers.
