Hey all!

So I started a new venture last year as an off shoot of my watch photography business, The WatchTographer, that being PIX-EDC.

As the name suggests, PIX-EDC is focused around imagery of our every day carry items.

  • watches
  • knives
  • wallets
  • guns
  • tools
  • ... and the list goes on

It was a logical step, as the studio is already set up for photographing items of generally the same size and provides me with a much larger, diverse client base. So, WIN!

Here is what I need from 'the brightest folks on the internet', you all.

In order to be attractive to potential clients, I need exposure ... and in today's world of social media, that equates to Facebook ans Instagram followers. I've already his a few walls with clients that only look at my follower number, as opposed to the quality of my work and brand. "But you only have _____ followers? and the fact that I've only really started in the last month, seems to escape them. :)

So, if you would like to help out a fellow photog grow his business in this fiasco of a year we call 2020, I would REALLY appreciate it ... just drop a follow at the pages I've linked below, would be a just awesome!

Oh, and I'll post some of my latest images to show what I've been up to!

Thanks, everyone!

and, of course https://www.facebook.com/watchtographer (external link) as a bonus. :)

Thank you all and I appreciate the help!

- Beau

<sigh>

Would the sigh be because you didn't get the support you were hoping for? If so some thoughts....

1. The days of "please like and follow" are long gone. I know your an established member of the community but even so many people these days shy away from liking or following people/businesses they have no actual connection to/interest in.
2. If you just want to pad your followers to impress potential clients then you may as well buy followers. It is quick and cheap.
3. However, followers aren't really what you need (if your clients have any sense)... it is engagement. People actively commenting on what you post. Even if people here did Like/Follow they are still going to look like fake followers to any of the systems that scan social media accounts because, unless they are actively interested, they won't engage.
4. You are targetting a niche. I know that to some here a gun is an "every day carry" but to a vast number of others it isn't. I assume you have already posted on forums related to your subject matter but if not that is the place to post.
5. I would also consider very carefully targetted ads aimed at people who like/make the items you are featuring as well as tagging companies when you post.

Thanks for all the feedback, Dan. Here's some more info ...

1. The days of "please like and follow" are long gone. I know your an established member of the community but even so many people these days shy away from liking or following people/businesses they have no actual connection to/interest in.
- Apparently so. I spent YEARS here helping others out so I thought a single 'click' might be worth the hundreds of explanations and Photoshop fixes I've done.

2. If you just want to pad your followers to impress potential clients then you may as well buy followers. It is quick and cheap.
- It can be done that way but coming from POTN, they would at least be real people wanting to help out another artist.

3. However, followers aren't really what you need (if your clients have any sense)... it is engagement. People actively commenting on what you post. Even if people here did Like/Follow they are still going to look like fake followers to any of the systems that scan social media accounts because, unless they are actively interested, they won't engage.
- They engage because I target them via messages, not by them reaching out to me - that will happen when I no longer hear "But you only have _________ followers."

4. You are targeting a niche. I know that to some here a gun is an "every day carry" but to a vast number of others it isn't. I assume you have already posted on forums related to your subject matter but if not that is the place to post.
- Again, I reach out to those in that specific subset and don't expect organic contacts to come to me till later.

5. I would also consider very carefully targeted ads aimed at people who like/make the items you are featuring as well as tagging companies when you post.
- That is a possibility when funds are available. Now, we're not there yet.
