Not the usual bird for Yorkshire, but there's been a very obliging Hoopoe, Upupa epops at Collingham near Leeds, W Yorkshire.

Kevin you've captured these so beautifully.
Lovely birds. The low stance helps makes these special IMO.

A while back one of these featured on Midsomer Murders, never saw the bird, but your photos puts context to the story.

They would surely excite anyone with half an interest in nature.
Very nice.
