Kingfisher with 7DII 100-400 1.4x at 560mm

Trying to figure out if the R5 or R6 would work for me, having the 90D and 7DII I am trying more shots with the 20 mp sensor to see how it is with large crops. Most of my shots tend to be at a distance due to where I have to setup. High ISO and extreme crops is why I am leaning towards the R5. I like the AF on the 7D but the sensor with more megapixels on the 90D I like better.

This one is at the edge of being ok even for social media, now way it could be printed, although I rarely print.

Hi Jeff, nice shots of the kingfisher, hard to get close. I recently got an R5, I haven't used it enough to give a full recommendation but I can tell you it is awesome so far. I have had two 7Dii for years and love them but when my friend showed what he could with his Sony A9 and 100-400 using hgh Iso it was a paradigm shift. The R5 besides raw has C-raw which is about half the pixel size images of the 45mp raw images. Here is an example of a C-raw image that almost made me faint when I saw it. The hummingbird is in the lower right corner of the uncropped version, below it is the cropped. This was shot with the R5 and a 500mm lens using electronic shutter 20 frames per sec

Wow and that is CRaw! I may well have to get a R5
