Does anyone use a tablet to control a camera? I'm thinking trying this method to get shot into tablet and run photos through lightroom for quick audits and uploads. Mostly while I'm sitting in the forest while taking breathers from walking for ever. Moving up to a full frame 5D mk4 after years of crop cameras. Gonna team it with my 7D mk2.
thanks for any advice on this issue. Gonna try and up my game. Eric

A lot depends on the tablet. I use EOS Utilities all the time connected to my PC, a Surface tablet, or my laptop. As long as the tablet has a USB port and can run EOS Utilities, it should run fine.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I believe LR which the mobile version will require your files to be in the cloud to edit on the tablet. Not related but I downloaded the Canon Camera Connect app which is an actual Canon app to have wireless control with my R5.

It depends on the tablet. Some are just big phones in which case you will have to use the mobile version, but some are small laptops in which case you can load anything you can on a regular laptop assuming you have the needed specifications.

I've occasionally used DSLR Controller on my Galaxy Tablet with 7DMK2.

Since I have both brands in my bag, I can advise that Fuji Camera Remote is really awful and I gave up on it. So DSLR Controller seems pretty OK by comparison

Cascable.se is a good option for remote control of your camera, but it's iOS only for now. TetherTools make a good app that runs via their CaseAir unit
