7DMkII = What does the "15" Mean ???

It may very well have been doing this all along; but, I have recently noticed that, whenever I half-press the shutter button, in the bottom-right corner of the screen, just to the left of the shots left display, a number "15" will appear.

I have only ever seen a "15", no other number.

What does the "15" represent; and, why only ever a 15 ?
