I wasn’t inferring that your shop wasn’t reputable. Canon supports lenses for a limited period; in my experience with one lens about 8 years. After that I had to deal with an independent shop for repairs That type of shop has to deal with parts availability, something that might be questionable on a TS-E lens that could be as much as 11 years old ad at best made in limited quantities. So it might be reasonable to expect that a substitute part may have been used, perhaps even brand new, but now causes your lens to write to EXIF with incorrect information.
