The repair was done by a reputable business in London. I had to wait for spares to arrive ....... So I was told! ;-)a

I think I will call them tomorrow. By the way, the lens is the newer one. F3.5.

I wasn’t inferring that your shop wasn’t reputable. Canon supports lenses for a limited period; in my experience with one lens about 8 years. After that I had to deal with an independent shop for repairs That type of shop has to deal with parts availability, something that might be questionable on a TS-E lens that could be as much as 11 years old ad at best made in limited quantities. So it might be reasonable to expect that a substitute part may have been used, perhaps even brand new, but now causes your lens to write to EXIF with incorrect information.

Update!
Firstly my apologies for being tardy in posting.
Due to lockdown things have been all over the place. Last week I contacted the company who repaired the lens and straight away they said it was a software issue, sounds like this is not the first time!
I've sent the lens back to them and should get it back next week. If I get any details on what was done I'll post here. :)

Thanks
Simon.
