Are either of these birds an Eastern Phoebe?
I've looked up Eastern Phoebe and I'm still not quite sure if either are.
I'm thinking the first one might be but not so sure about the second one.
Not the best pictures but the conditions weren't the best at the time.
Pictures taken in the eastern N.A. breeding range of the Eastern Phoebe.

Yes, the first image is an Eastern Phoebe and looks to be a young bird. Note the dark back/wings, yellow wash on the belly, and the all black beak.

The second image is of an Eastern Kingbird. Note the white tip on the tail and the white belly with a sharply contrasting black head.

Thank you for the ID help.
Since taking up bird photography a couple of years ago, I'm more aware now that there's a greater variety of birds around where I live than I realized.
I'm finding that out mainly from one area I go to fairly often.
The Eastern Phoebe and Eastern Kingbird are new to me so that's why I wasn't sure what they were.

Here is another one that's new to me.
When I look up what I think it is, turns out it's not.
I was thinking Pine Warbler or a Yellow- throated Vireo.

Glad to help. Yeah, there are a bunch of birds out there. It doesn’t help when they’re in all different stages of age, gender, and when new birds come in for migration. It is a fun hobby though.

The bird you have here is a female Common Yellowthroat. Note the yellow breast with a sharp contrast to brown on the lower cheek. Also note the yellow extending to the undertail coverts. The bird has unmarked wings too.

A Pine Warbler would have a double wingbar and less yellow on the underparts especially on the belly.
A Yellow-throated Vireo would have a chunky beak, have the appearance of “spectacles” on the face, also have wingbars, and a white belly to the undertail coverts.

I agree with everything Brad said about your photos. Welcome to the greatest addiction of bird photography. I highly recommend the website allaboutbirds.org. Lots of photos, and they also show you birds that are similar. If you dig deeper into each page, you can find even more great photos, along with sounds and range maps.

I didn't even think of the female Common Yellowthroat.
I've seen the adult male of this bird.
That's quite the difference in appearance between the two.

Thanks again.

Good recommendation regarding the allaboutbirds site. It is a very good site and it's one that I mainly use.

This forum is also very helpful.
A lot of times I've been able to identify a bird based on pictures I've seen here.

Now I just have to wait roughly 6 months before I can see what other birds visit my area that I don't know about.
