Thanks for all the feedback. I picked up a 600w APC UPS yesterday, still shut down after UPS put in place. I noticed constant red light on Motherboard next to RAM, so removed and reseated RAM and PC powered on with monitor response. CPU was at 170 degrees Fahrenheit within 3 minutes of startup while MB was at 89 degrees. All fans were on to include CPU. I cleaned the PC late 2019, no problems before or after cleaning. PC build is 8 years old now. Perhaps new grease and cleaning is needed specifically at CPU? First time ever having heat problems. Room was warmer about 82F, but don't think that should have an impact. I will make sure room is cooled with AC with future use of PC's. But, first I need to figure out why overheating. Thanks again for any I input.
You should google “Sabertooth z77 overheating” (without the quote marks) and see the number of hits where people have experienced what is often termed “ridiculous” temperatures due to failure of the sensor on the motherboard. See https://www.overclockers.com …ng-ridiculous-temperature
for instance.
But I would still be checking thing that might have been compromised during the shipment. You likely have no less than two fans, and perhaps as many as eight, make sure they are are operating. Verify that any heatsink is still in contact with the appropriate areas that get hot.
Over on overclock.com, some people had power/boot issues with their “builds” and it was due to the case power switch being dislodged into a physically ON position. The PC’s would boot, then go blank, then reboot, blank again, etc. Might be worth checking that switch but it seems like your power situation is resolved.
Just to satisfy the curiosity of everyone here, will this machine now boot properly without that UPS? I personally do not feel the “quality” of the power (some comments about squarish vs. sine wave) had anything to do with your issue. “Yes” there are power disruptions but I was employed as an engineer for 25 years in power generation for one of the largest companies in the world that makes power GEneration equipment and I can tell you that the power in PR is “decent”, if not substantially improved since the hurricane of 2017.
