Is it possible for a mere human to correct timestamps in Canon RAW files ?

I can easily add, correct, and alter timestamps in jpeg files; however, if the timestamp in the original RAW is wrong, then it will forever always be wrong in all of it's offspring, requiring each and every one to have it's timestamp corrected = it would be eversomuch easier to, as Barney says, "nip it in the bud".

Is there a reliable program that can do this without otherwise corrupting the RAW file ?

Thanks for reading and all help is appreciated.

EXIFTool.

There are also GUI front ends for EXIFTool if working from the command line is not your cup of tea. Search on line for EXIFTool GUI or something similar.

In Adobe Bridge, in the Edit menu, "Edit Capture Time". That should do it?

I did this for an entire three week trip to Africa once with ACDSee pro. One of my cameras was off,. I had neglected to synchronize ahead of time. Getting them synced meant that if I viewed images by time taken (date) all would be in the order they were taken regardless of which camera was used to take the shot. Very helpful in many cases. Also, I used Tommy's geo tagging data from the same trip, he had a camera that geo-tagged, (I did not) But by syncing via time, I could know exactly what park we were in by time, even if we were in differnt parts of the park.
