A couple shots with the new RF 85mm macro. This lens is as good as the reviews posted on Youtube. I'm actually selling my copy because I shoot detail closeup more so than actual macro. And my Tamron 35mm gets very close. I bought this 85mm for a comparison just to see. But for my purposes, there's not a lot of difference even though one is 85mm and the other 35mm, which I use on the 5DS. But I have the 85mm 1.2 and really want a 35mm prime in my bag all the time. So the 35mm fits. Otherwise, this 85mm macro is a great deal for the price.

Go on Youtube and find the reviews from Gordon Laing and Alex Barrera. Those two should sum things up.

Are you still enjoying the RF 85mm f/2 Macro? I'm strongly considering getting one. My EF 85L II is big and really sluggish on the R5. Not in a bad way, it's just more noticeable now compared to all the RF glass. I don't want to spend another $2k on the RF 85L, and I'm thinking for my use the macro guy would be just fine.
