I have been trying to trigger my Elinchrom D-Lite RX4 (Slave) with Canon 580 EX 2 as master. Both 580 Ex2 and Elinchrom do trigger but i get light on the subject only from the 580 Ex2.

My Set up is i have Canon 5D Mark 2 with Godox X ProC transmitter, and Godox X1R-C for the 580 Ex 2 off camera trigger. As a single set up this works fine. Now i have made the 580 Ex 2 as master and turned the Elinchrom D-Lite RX4 Slave mode. On shutter click both flashes trigger but i never seem to get the Elinchrom D-Lite RX4 to light up the subject (Probably some delay i am taking a wild guess here), even though i can see the flash on Elinchrom D-Lite RX4 is triggering. i have tried shutter speeds from 1/60 to 1/200.

Separately i have a transmitter for Elinchrom D-Lite RX4 and as a single flash unit this works fine as well.

So pro any idea why Elinchrom D-Lite RX4 is not triggering at the same time as canon 580 Ex2? any idea will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi JilS and welcome to POTN. The 580EX II is an ETTL flash. It fires twice undetectably. The first is to measure the scene with the shutter closed and the second with the shutter open for the actual exposure. I'm not sure if your triggers have been set properly for this. I'm guessing that maybe they have not been and are firing your slaves on the first flash with shutter closed. A way to test this would be to set the 580EX II to manual and try a shot. If your slaves contribute to the exposure then you need to reset them to take ETTL into account.

Thank you for the reply! I have been testing all along with manual Exposure with the 580 EX II, tried changing the exposure from 1/1 to different fractions. Any other tips? been racking my head around this..
