Will this fit on an 80D? I bought a 24mm was STM because your not suppose to hear it focusing while using video with the 80D but it would not fit to the camera

The 80D is compatible with "Canon EF Lenses (including EF-S lenses, excluding EF-M lenses)" and the 40mm is an EF lens.

The Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM should work, the the 22 EF-M f/2 STM will not work. I think I recall EF-S lenses needing to mount differently. They have a dot on the lens that doesn't line up with the red dot on the body lens mount, you need to rotate it slightly clockwise (their may be a white dot on the mount) when mounting.
