Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Around the House. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Show us Around your House or something Around your House or something you do Around your House...

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

Nice decorations fotoi!

We haven't done a thing inside the house yet, but I did get the shooting star and the barn lights up outside.

This little grouse has been hanging around the House for the last couple of days. Spends most of its time kipitzing with the chickens.:-P

Front room of our country cabin that I call home. I haven't participated lately, worked nearly every day since May but I have been following everyone and still get a chance to look at others photos, gives me a break for a change.

It kind of looks like a lot of your furnishings are homemade and one-of-a-kind and perfect!

LOL, I actually thought of you Terry when I was cooking and took these shots that evening. I'm not the master that you are but it turned out quite good for a beginner like me. Wish there wasn't so many miles between us so we could meet up again.

Thank you OhLook, except for the recliners, TV and wood stove I did build most of it. I built the house with my wife's help and a lot of the wood came from our farm. The rock for the chimney came from my stepfather's farm 120 miles away, it gave us a good excuse to go visit my folks so we could bring back some rocks, there is about 17 tons of rock in it as it extends 4 feet on the outside, it's more than a weekend project but one that I enjoyed.

We are planning on doing a little more traveling this coming year. Not out of the realm of possibilities to be traveling your way at some point in time.

Here's someone who can now be found around my house.. This is Moochie the Cat.
I found him last year just before Thanksgiving. He was hiding in one of my Tortoises burrows.
He was skinny, had a head wound and was terrified of everything. His right ear is damaged and he doesn't hear too well
One year later, he has a full belly, a bed both indoors and outdoors and has now begun to purr, finally.

This image was in January of this year, after feeding and nursing for 2 months...
Needless to say, he was living very rough and I took no photos in the beginning.
I didn't think he would survive. He had what looked like a car accident and an attack by
coyotes.. (there were canine puncture wounds through his head and under his jaw)

He turns out to be a part of the family..

joayne, that's a beautiful cat. Thank you for taking him in.

Not so beautiful but perhaps interesting: a large overripe lemon. The peel is infested with scale insects. Even after washing, residual soot that drifted here from last season's wildfires, miles away, remains in crevices.
