I shoot a lot of rodeo / barrel races using 6-8 Einsteins. I have used this system for the last 6-7 years, really never had any problems with triggering the strobes until the last year or so when they started not firing on random shots. I might shoot 20 shots and everything works as it should, then fail to fire any of the strobes, then fire the next shot and then maybe fire two or three more shots then fail to fire any of the strobes again. After contacting Buff about this I was told that I probably needed to get a new CyberSync transmitter as I had the old version and they had a V2 out now. So I did, and they also told me to go up to the higher frequencies on the units, I did this as well. So I just got back from shooting a big 3 day barrel race where it still continued to randomly miss firing the strobes on random shots. Not good, this cost me money! I have tried it on both of my 1DX bodies and have the same result. The only thing I can think of is there is so much traffic on the 2.4 Ghz bands now that I'm getting interference. There were probably 8-10 wifi networks running in and around this arena. Also I had all the slave triggers on so if one fired, they all fired, and I was less than 50 feet from a set of three strobes during this time. Any Ideas? Still waiting on Buff to call me back on this?
