Download and install "REVO Uninstall" and then run it on Stellarium and that will get rid of everything that touches Stellarium hidden files etc. and then down load it again

there maybe some stuff that doesn't get wiped in a win uninstall

Charles, this is probably redundant as you've probably already tried it but...

CONFIGUARATION>NAVIGATION> Under the "Startup-date-and-time" section check the box for "USE SYSTEM TIME"

*Then* go back to the MAIN tab in the on the same CONFIGURATION page and click the "Save Settings" button.

Just a thought....

Ed

ETA: I'm using a much older version so the above paths/commands may not be correct for use in your version. ?

Thank you

I did not know I needed to save anything, or where to save it. The problem is, when I press F2 then click on the Time tab, then click on System date and time, NOTHING changes. The date / time stays at 2020-11-07 1:38AM

When I then go back to the Main tab and save this setting I am saving where it is already at.

I never "uninstalled" the previous version of Stellarium, I just loaded it on top of the older version. I just now did uninstall Stellarium then reinistalled Stellarium.

That was a partial success! The date is now correct but the time is not correct. The time here is 12:05PM
The Stellarium time is 11:23AM
I closed and restarted Stellarium several times now, each time it restarts the time does increase but still behind roughly 42 minutes.

Thank you for this Jeff.

Where do I download REVO Uninstall from?

I just googled it, revouninstaller.com

It costs $24.95 but there is a free trial, but it does not say how long the trial lasts.

Not sure how long the free trial is, I bought it.

ok, Thanks

Do I uninstall Stellarium before running this or will Revo Uninstaller ask what to uninstall?

Is the $24.95 a lifetime payment or is it a yearly payment?

Did you buy the Pro or Pro Portable version?

What do you like about this program?

I just now again opened up Stellarium to see if the time is appx still appx 43 minutes slow. It is still 43 minutes slow, but I noticed something else different.
In the lower left corner where it shows the time and the date it USED to say UTC -5:00

Now it says UTC -5:43

So weird!!

I just now tried something different.

Pressed F5 to bring up that date/time window. Corrected the time in this window as the date was already correct. Changing time in the F5 window has always worked in the past.

After correcting the time I then went to F2 to save the configuration. After saving I then closed and re-opened Stellarium.

Now it is the correct date and time!! UTC -5:00 is also now correct!!

FINALLY!!!!
